Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m.
Minutes
The commissioners reviewed the minutes. Commissioner Stolar moved to approve the minutes
as amended, and Commissioner Pengelly seconded. The motion passed 6-0.
Visitor Presentations
1. Economic Development Manager Presentation
Sam DiMaggio, Economic Development Manager, gave an overview of her role in economic
development in Chanhassen. She discussed the importance of making connections locally.
Jamie Marsh, Environmental Resource Specialist, asked Ms. DiMaggio to keep the
Environmental Commission or Environmental Academy in mind when she comes across
interesting environmental initiatives happening in Chanhassen, as the Commission hopes to
continue building partnerships, outreach, and educational opportunities.
Discussion Items
1. Review Trivia Night Questions
Ms. Marsh shared the trivia questions submitted by commissioners. They reviewed both the
content and difficulty. Prize donations are still being finalized. A winter date for trivia night
might be hosted in March.
2. Community Engagement Strategies
Due to time constraints, Commissioner Lindmark moved to table the discussion until the next
meeting. Commissioner Elhadi seconded.
3. Select Theme for Arbor Day Poster Contest
Ms. Marsh gave an overview of Arbor Day and the contest for fifth graders. The Commission
reviewed previous years’ themes and ideas. After a brief discussion, Commissioner Lindmark
moved to select Trees are terrific in all colors, and Commissioner Pengelly seconded. The
motion carried.

Upcoming Items and Events
1. Commission Vacancies
Applications are open January 8 through January 30, and commissioners are encouraged to
spread the word. The Environmental Commission will have two open positions.
Adjournment
Commissioner Pengelly moved to adjourn the meeting, and Commissioner Lindmark seconded.
The motion was carried, and the meeting adjourned at 7:27 p.m.
