A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING BOTH SIDES OF MARKET BOULEVARD FROM
WEST 78TH STREET TO CHAN VIEW AS A NO PARKING AREA
WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes §412.221, Subd. 6, the City has the power to
regulate the use of streets within the City; and
WHEREAS, City Code section 12-13 authorizes the City to designate certain streets or
portions of streets as no parking zones and provides that no person shall stop or park a vehicle in
a no parking zone; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to provide safe and effective transportation access to all areas
in the City; and
WHEREAS, the existing and rehabilitated street width of this portion of Market Boulevard
is not wide enough to allow for safe parking of vehicles on either side while allowing for traveling
vehicles, including emergency response vehicles, to safely travel through the corridor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Chanhassen City Council that no on-
street parking be allowed on both sides of Market Boulevard from West 78th Street to Chan View
and that the City’s Public Works Director is directed to mark by appropriate signage, and the
County Sheriff is directed to enforce, the designated no parking area for this portion of Market
Boulevard.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Chanhassen City Council this 13th day of April 2026.
