A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO A GRANT
AGREEMENT WITH THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL ENVIRONMENTAL
SERVICES FOR THE 2023 MCES MUNICIPAL INFILTRATION/INFLOW GRANT
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the MN State Legislature approved a total of $12.0M in grant funding for Met
Council’s Municipal I/I grant program; And
WHEREAS, all eligible cities, including Chanhassen, were given an opportunity to receive
matching fund dollars for I/I mitigation; And
WHEREAS, the MCES’s estimate of Chanhassen’s grant funding is $307,270.00 based on
the Letter of Intent sent February 5, 2024, but could increase or decrease based on the completed
projects from other cities eligible for the grant program; And
WHEREAS, staff submitted 3 projects (City Project No’s. 24-01, 24-02, & 25-01) which
completed approximately $857,558.20 of eligible work during the eligible project work dates of
1/1/2024 through 12/31/2025.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chanhassen,
Minnesota, that the city is authorized to enter into a grant agreement with the Metropolitan Council
Environmental Services for the 2023 MCES Municipal Infiltration/Inflow (I/I) Grant Program, and
that the Public Works Director is authorized to sign the agreement and any amendments on behalf of
the city.
