THOMPSON District Group Manager August 5, 1976 Bruce Pankonin City Planner City of Chanhassen 7610 Lorado Drive Chanhassen, Minnesota 55317 Dear Bruce: This letter is to confirm our earlier conversation at which time we discussed my desire to build a home on Lake Minnewashta on a piece of my mother's property. Earlier I had given you a survey and house plans and advised you that my attorney, Frank Kelly of Excelsior, was working on the road easement and that I had permission and approval from the people using the present roadway and easement coming from Red Cedar Point to my property. Attached with the letter is the new survey with the topography require- ments that you asked for during our last meeting. The required sub- division plan application that you gave me is also attached. My attorney advises me that the final road easement should be finalized and in my hands next week at which time I will deliver it to you. As you know, water and sewer are on the northwest corner of this property and the sewer line also runs on the lakeshore in front. It is my intention to build a large, four bedroom home, a copy of the plans which you have, on the property adhering to all city ordnances and setbacks. As I mentioned earlier, the piece of property which is approximately an acre is being cut off the north end of my mother's present approximate six acres. It is my desired to start the foundation and fireplaces as soon as utterly possible so as to have the home roughed in before winter so that the interior finishing, etc. can be completed during the winter time. I therefore would appreciate anything that you and the planning commission and city council can do to expedite this request and variance approval. Sincerely, Rodney F, Thompson RFT:bdm NEW ENGLAND MUTUAL LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY —CHARTERED IN 1835
