SUBJECT: Roman R. Roos Variance Request
Tom Noonan, Donnie Schmieg and I acted as the Board of
Adjustments and Appeals in the request by Roman R. Roos of
8001 Cheyenne Avenue for a 10-foot rear yard variance to
install a permanent swimming pool(see attached). No persons
other than Mr. and Mrs. Roos and the Board attended the
June 28 hearing held in response to the request.
The Board finds Mr. Roos' application to be reasonable
and recommends that the Council approve the variance. The
Roos' lot backs up on commercially zoned land and is
screened by substantial shrubbery running across the back
of the lot. The back yard patio currently is screened by
a six-foot redwood fence which will be expanded to surround
the swiraning pool in accordance with state regulations.
The pool should have re 6epreciable effect on the surrounding
neightorhocd. Access will only be from within the house.
