JuIy 25, 1974 aL the Chanhassen City HaI1.
The following members !,rere present: Richard Lyman, Harold Lund,
Walter Hobbs and Fred Dickison.

Elected Co-Chairmen of the Commission were Walter Hobbs and Marianna
Shu Is tad .
Elected Secretary was Richard Llzman.
It was decided to invite interested groups to a meeting on August 15,
1974 to get their suggestions and imput on $rays to celebrate the
Bicentennial.

approve the December 4, 1975 minutes. Motion carried.rs reported that Dick Dutcher cannot be a co-signer for

DINNER THEATRE BENEFIT: Dick Dutcher gave the commission an update
on sa1es. In the last two weeks of December, 334 tickets must besold. The $25.00 seats have been oversold by 10. Dick suggested thatpossibly some $50.00 seats could be sold for $25.00 and four 15.00
seats could be sold at $25.00 seats.
A motion was mad.e by Mariana Shulstad and seconded by Lyle Ricklefs
to have tabl-e 24 chanqed from $50.00 seats to $25.00 seats, if
more $25.00 seat reguests come in. Motion carried..
Gail Tessness stated that the Chamber plans to contact the businessplaces to purchase two tickets which will be given a\,Iay at a drawing.
They will also be approached to buy their own tickets and tickets
as gifts for their employees. Gail also suggested neighborinq
communities be given some ad.vertising literature. Gail Tessness
w111 ask her husband to contact l{oward Viken to plug the benefit on
his radLo show on WCCO. It was suggested that the area papers carry
some remLnd.er of the January I deadline. It r,ras also suggestedthat the sales persons be contacted to make phone calls i.n their
neighborhoods.

earnings was 102 of all llquor BoId that ni.ght, plus a $200 donatlon from
the ChanhagsaB Dlnner Theetre.

The special meeting of the Bicentennlal ComnLssion was called to order
by co-chairperson Myrna Kurvers on September 9, 1976 at 7:05 PM. The
following members were present3 Walter Ilobbs, Ilyrna Kurvers ' Martin
Jones, Lyle Ricklefs, and Dlck Dutcher. Fr, Armand Lubanski and
Rich Lyman were absent.
l'linutes: The minutes of Septenber 9, L976 were amended to include

3/4 of the roof had been reshingled, holes in the interior walls fil1ed'
surface-mounted wiring removed and the exterior prime painted.
Several members recounted that their efforts Eo locate the missing be11
had met with no success. A motion was made by Martln Jones and seconded
by Dick Dutcher to notlfy the Carver County Sheriff of the mlssing
bel1 and contact the Carver County Herald to ask that the newspaper
publicize the fact that the bel1 had been removed from the old village
hall and its whereabouts lras unknown. MoEion carrled.

authorize orderlng the mechanical work portion of Ehe restoraElon,
provided Ehe cost does not exceed the amount budgeEed for such work
